New Year's Resolutions

Typically, I only have one New Year's Resolution. And that is to not give in to having a New Year's Resolution. I have this issue with going with the standard of everything. Literally everything. Not to say that I am a difficult person and fight against everything because that's not me either. I just don't believe that I should believe in something or do something because everyone else does. ANYWAY.... I never have a New Year's Resolution. But this year I have a few.

1. to actually blog every day. There's always something for me to blog about. I just get too lazy. You should hear about what happened on Tuesday on my lunch. That was pretty fucking funny.

2. Lose a tremendous amount of weight. Seriously. I'm so over this whole tired walking up the stairs thing. I'm doing it for real this time. And I'm not even waiting for New Year's. I made a conscious decision weeks ago and for the most part have been doing well. Except for yesterday and today of course (tons of left overs).

3. I'm going to really evaluate my life and figure out what I plan to do for the rest of it. This of course will be an ongoing thing that will literally take the rest of my life to do. I need to start thinking about myself. I lack majorly in that.

4. I want to become a full fledged runner by the end of the year. No, I don't expect to run a marathon is 3 hours, but I would like to be able to run at least 25% of the Nike Run Like A Girl half marathon in October next year.

5. I AM going to see Danielle next year. Whether she likes it or not.

And that its all I have for now. So even if I don't blog for the rest of this week, you will see me here January 1st.

Merry Christmas

Brittney: "Hey James, I bet you can't fit 7 dinner rolls in your mouth at once and then swallow them all without the assistance of a drink!"

James: "How much?"

Jessica: "I got $5."

Me: "HAHA! You'll never do it. I'll give you $50 if you do it."

James: "Let's do it!!"

And now I'm out $50.

Esteban Ochocinco iPhone App

OK, so I follow a lot of people on Twitter. Including Chad Johnson aka Chad Ochocinco aka Esteban Ochocinco. This morning he was tweeting about his iPhone app. And I'm thinking, "wtf does he have an app for?". So I went to iTunes on my iPod and checked it out. And it's pretty funny. So I bought it. And I think you should too. It doesn't disappoint for $0.99.

As a result, I have a little itty bitty crush on him. Do I think he's hot? umm..no. Although, I was watching the videos on this app and in one he was kind enough to show his chest and abs. Not bad, not bad. But I think he's pretty damn funny. And because I that, I think I have an itty bitty crush.

8. If I could find a way to cheat in my online math classes, I totally would.

12. And Cafe World.
13. And Happy Aquarium. I know. All three are pathetic.

16. I know that because I'm in a league on Monday nights.
17. I really hate shopping. It makes me really angry and cranky.

22. In the last week I've decided that Tori Spelling is friggin' awesome.
23. I've had the same hair brush for about 5 years.

42. I rarely log on to MySpace anymore.
43. mmm...Dr. Pepper.

46. I've had the misfortune of learning that most of the people I work with don't wash their hands after using the rest room.
47. I really want to dye my hair a dark brown. Mostly because I'm pretty sure I'd never have to dye it again if I did.

54. I think my blog is way cooler that my tweets, so I don't get why I have so few followers on it.
55. I can't believe I'm only at fiftyfuckingfive.
56. The owners of the company I work for refer to a Ford F-150 as a Redneck Cadillac. I think that's pretty funny.
57. But then again, wait.... if I was gonna buy a truck it might be a Ford F-150.
58. Actually, it wouldn't. I'll never buy a Ford again.
59. I don't think that Diddy is really a good rapper. He should stick to producing.
60. I've noticed that now that I'm working again, I watch the news again. Maybe I feel like since I'm working, I should once again care about what's going on in the world? hmmm...
61. One of my friends is always trying to get "the hook up" on something and it drives me crazy.
62. I have an addiction to make up. I have more eye shadows than I have dollars in my bank account.
63. I haven't worn 80% of the eye shadows because when I buy them, I forget that I'm not a professional make up artist. If I wear them, I'll look like a clown.

80. Then another time I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic I was taking and wound up in ER on New Year's Money. Happy fucking New Year.
81. The only reason I'm looking forward to my company party for Christmas is because there will be an open bar.

100. When I'm alone and I need to fill up the gas tank, I use regular instead of premium. James tells me to use premium, but regular is cheaper.

iPod, for the first time I'm mad at you!

Oh, so you say I still have 3.6 gigs open to add to my music, movies, photos, or apps that I so desperately need to get me through the day? That's interesting.

Then why do you also tell me this??

Thanks for nothing. Happy friggin' Monday to you too iPod. :(

where I'll be next Saturday

made with love

This past Friday I was doing homework when my son made me lunch. It's possible that he might be the next Bobby Flay.

He came up with this quesadilla with mushrooms. But he butters the tortilla before putting in the mushrooms and cheese. If that wasn't tasty enough, he opted to serve it with tangerine slices. Yeah. Tangerine slices. And it all came together really really well. It was hella good.

I don't know where he gets the culinary skills from because it surely isn't me. But I like it!

It's been a long time, I shouldn't of left you without a dope beat to step to

Sorry I've been gone! As you know, I came up with this idea to do a photo blog a day. But....it didn't happen. So I'm starting fresh right now. I thought I'd try to make up for all the days lost, but that's about two weeks and it'll never happen.

I started my new job (woohoo!) a couple weeks ago. Between James hogging the laptop when I suddenly want to use it and me falling asleep at 8:00 or 8:30, it's been hard. But I'm ready to go.

So: here is my photo blog for Sunday, October 25th.

These pictures are actually from last Sunday, October 18th. As you know, I decided to once again partake in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. I did the half marathon. All for the beloved Tiffany's necklace.

This year I was planning on taking a pic of all the mile markers again, but I got bored with that around 10.

I was better prepared this year. And my better preparation consisted of my cool shoes and Dri Fit Socks. Nothing more. I didn't train. I got lazy. Again. BUT the shoes and Dri Fit Socks completely prevented any blisters (unlike last year) which therefore decreased my total time by about 19 minutes. :)

Of course, my name was once again displayed on the window at Nike Town.

As a result of this being my second year doing this, I am now addicted. I plan to register for next year as well. Anyone else wanna do it with me?

We can have $1250 delivered today

Thank the Google Gods for a good spam filter on GMail. Because if these somehow got through to my inbox, I seriously might take my laptop out to the highest deck in my house and throw it into the back yard. What the picture doesn't show is that these are coming in every 12-17 minutes. In fact, another just came in!! And if this wasn't bad enough, my spam folder had over 130 of these earlier today.

the best $7.49 I ever spent (photo blog for Saturday)

I have the driest itchiest skin on the planet. I have been on a mission for years trying to find a lotion that is not greasy, helps make my legs not so itchy, and has a nice smell to it.

I promise you I have tried just about everything that is stocked at Target, Wal-Mart, Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop, Safeway, and Walgreens. Nothing has worked.

Now my search is over. I bought this at Target last night and so far it is my favorite possession surpassing my iPod and my Coach. All because my legs stopped itching almost instantly from the minute I put it on, it smells nice, and my skin is soft and not greasy.

Those crazy uff da speakers are geniuses when it comes to lotion. Thank you Norwegians!

I'm addicted

to the Belmont Library. I have gone there every day for the past four days. Why? Because there are soooo many books I want to read.

This year I have started approximately nine books. I have finished four. The four that I finished probably shouldn't even count because it's the four that make up the Twilight Saga.

Now I have these three books. And they're all due between October 29th through the 31st. What the hell am I gonna do??

7 (more) things (I hate about Miley Cyrus)

I would like to know who's idea it was to give this skankzilla her own clothing line. Although, I really shouldn't be so surprised. After all, it is at Wal-Mart (click here!!!). No, I'm not saying that Wal-Mart is trashy. I'm just saying that a good amount of people that shop there are. However, people I know and myself are obviously excluded from that "good amount".

Feast your eyes on these amazing pieces.

I really wish I had the balls to take pictures of the clothes on the racks today when I went to Wal-Mart. I was just afraid that Miley Cyrus would pop out and sing Party in the USA and confiscate my camera.

all is quiet on the home front (photo blog)

This is a picture of my inbox on my cell phone. I know it's a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

No messages.

OK, so maybe you probably are thinking "so?". But that means I didn't talk to my bff today.

So I just wanted to take the opportunity to say "hey hooker! i'll text you tomorrow!".

Belmont rocks

Man, I love this little city I live in. At first I only liked it. That's because there's a lot of people with money here. And I don't have any.

But then Danny started school. And he has what I never had. An entire set of school books just for home. I know that might not be a big deal to most people because they didn't grow up in Hayward where we sometimes couldn't take the sadly outdated books out of the class room because there weren't enough for all the students.

Then today was the icing on the cake. I went to the Belmont Library to check out a book for my sociology final. After I got my new library card, I saw tons of CD's. Sweet! I kinda almost forgot that libraries have DVD's and CD's.

The Belmont library has an impressive catalog to say the least. The DVD's range from educational crap to Nip/Tuck, Queer As Folk, and Sex and the City.

The CD's are just as cool. I tried not to act like a kid in a candy store and grab everything I wanted. So here's what I came out with. :) Go Belmont and your high tax payers!!

WTF "101"

As you know, I've been unemployed since February. Since then, I've gone to countless interviews with little to no luck. It's been a little hard on my ego.

Yesterday I had an interview at a company in South City (South San Francisco for you non Bay Area folks) with little hopes. I was just exhausted from going to so many interviews with nothing cool in return.

I was directed to sit in the conference room and the interviewer would be in shortly. I knew this was going to be a cool company because this was on the white board:

The interview went well, just like the others. So I didn't put any hope into it.

But today they called me and I got the job. Woohoo!!

And that concludes my photo blog of the day - for yesterday. :)

Sunday, October 4, 2009

yay!! (photo blog)

I love love love make up. Sometimes I buy eye shadows knowing they're not my color and I will probably never wear them. But then I think that maybe I'll learn how to do make up in a cool way and someday I'll be able to use them.

I just brought this home.

I got really excited when I went to Ulta and saw it because it looks even better in person than in the ad!

Here's the inside. oooohhh....ahhh.....

I am in love.

Ulta.com describes it as, "Find everything you need to create any look in one kit. Choose from pink, bronze or black. Kit includes: 32 eyeshadows, 12 lip colors, 6 cheek colors, 4 full size lipsticks, 2 mini lipglosses, 2 pot glosses, 2 shimmer powders, 2 eye shadow quads, 2 concealers, 2 dual ended liners, 2 brushes, train case with mirror and applicators."

If you want more to buy one, go here. The best part is it's only $25 or $20 if you have the $5 off coupon. :) Happy shopping!

Obama-ized

There's a cool app on Facebook that lets you Obama-ize your pics.

And since I haven't done anything today that's cool enough for a photo blog, this is what you get.

I'll be leaving soon to go see Paranormal Activity. :)

Until tomorrow...

Paranormal Activity

This is my ticket for two to see Paranormal Activity at the Metreon in The City tomorrow night.

Billed to be "the scariest movie ever", it better be good.

I'll let you on Sunday. If it's really scary, my photo blog will probably be of a pair of peed in pants.

PS, it's bullshit that this posted as Saturday. Because I didn't go to sleep yet, so it's still TECHNICALLY Friday night.

brotherly love

As you know, Cameron moved last weekend. Tonight he called us asking to help him go shopping for some furniture. After an extensive amount of time spent at Ikea, we decided it was time to eat.

You'd think there would be a million restaurants down El Camino Real..considering in runs from somewhere north of San Francisco all the way down to San Diego. But no. There are a million bars.

As we were driving, we see the sign for Jack's Prime. I said, "Hey! Let's go there."

Cameron starts laughing and says his sister works there. And sure enough, she's working.

So we flip around, park, and go in. When she saw him she got all excited. It was cute. Anyway - we order our burgers and soda and talk for a little bit.

When we're done, she apologizes to us for not being about to get us a better discount. We laugh because we didn't come for the free food.

Our bill was $25.00 and some change. Cameron decided he wanted to tip her well. So he left a $100 bill in the bill thing and we walked out.

That is brotherly love. It made me smile to know that he did that for her. :)

The end.

ouch, that's gotta hurt

Where do I start with this one...

Danny asked me if he could go to a friend's house after school today. They have a "skateboarding team" that consists of 3 or 4 kids with no competitors.

In order to get to pretty much anyone's house from ours, it requires going up a massive hill (in any direction). Danny has always walked up the hills with skateboard in hand or walking his bike.

Today, he decided to skateboard down one. Around 4:00 today, I get a phone call from him.

Danny: "Mom, can you come pick me up?"
me: "Where are you?"
Danny: "At the corner of Barclay and Monserat."
me: "Why do you need me to come get you? You're just down the street."
Danny: "Because I fell and I can hardly walk."
me: (thinking) fuck....
me: "OK, I'll be there in a minute."

I drive up the hill and see Danny sitting on the curb with his helmet on and his skateboard next to him. He gets up, walks to my car and throws his skateboard and helmet in the back seat then gets in next to me in the front seat. Immediately I scan him from knees up looking for the damage. Small little scrape on the knee. No big deal. Wondering why he's being such a drama queen.

Then I see this on his elbow.

Now mind you, this is the cleaned up version. When he got in the car, him elbow was covered in blood.

He didn't even realize what happened to his elbow. When I pointed it out, he went into a slight panic at the sight of the blood.

We came home, I cleaned it up, we went to Blockbuster, got some pizza, and now he's good to go.

one of my favorite things ever

I was feeling pretty crappy by yesterday afternoon. (No Danielle, I will not drink your crazy garlic honey tea concoction) And since James took the car to work, I was stuck at home with no where to go and nothing cool to see.

So my photo blog for yesterday will be of what you've seen previously. My giraffe blanket.

I'm 31 years old. Never in my life have I felt an attachment to a blanket. Apparently a lot of kids go through this sort of thing, but I just never got into it. But now I have this blanket that I love so much.

So much, that I seriously get really cranky if I don't have it to sleep with. Even if it's like 98 degrees outside, I need this blanket.

Monday's photo blog

You know what's funny, I hate when people are late. I try really hard not to be late for anything. But apparently my punctuality only applies to work, interviews, and doctor's appointments. Ugh.

So here is my photo blog for yesterday.

I was planning on taking a picture of my bowling ball and brag about my bowling skiillz. But, I didn't get a chance to take the picture. And my "skillz" are not nearly as good as people who bowl for real.

So instead, I'll just tell you about my two other favorite things from yesterday.

Big week in music for me.

Mariah's album is released today as well as the new Paramore.

A quick thanks goes out to Perez Hilton for badmouthing Mariah on his blog. I was able to cancel my preorder on iTunes and download her new album yesterday afternoon for a very inexpensive $5.99.

After bowling last night, we followed the routine and went to Marcos and Ed's. I was checking my email and was so excited to see that my Paramore preorder was ready for download. I was not happy to find that my preorder on iTunes for some reason was not linked to my iTunes account in a way that I could have been able to download it right from my iPod Touch. Made me really annoyed. I hope that is something that Apple works on in the future.

As soon as I got home last night/the wee hours of this morning, I opened up my laptop and began the download and synced my iPod.

All is good in my music world again.

I've been listening to both albums back and forth this morning. I tend to get lost in music. Don't be surprised if I make myself scarce for a few days. Sorry.

Buy both albums. They're awesome. :)

origin of stupidity

You know how I feel about this kind of thing. I ran across this on Twitter via Joe Rogan and decided to share.

Sunday, September 27, 2009

why I didn't blog yesterday (photo blog for today)

This is the view from Cameron's new patio in his new apartment in San Bruno/South San Francisco/Pacifica. We helped him move yesterday. Yes, that is the Pacific Ocean. Am I jealous? No. Why? Because it's foggy there 359 days of the year. I just got lucky and happened to be there on a clear day.

PETA strikes again

I drive past this every morning going back to 280 on 6th street in downtown SF. I know the subject matter is not intended to be funny, but it makes me laugh. And the reason it makes me laugh is because less than a block before this PETA sign on the opposite side of the street is a McDonald's billboard for a chicken sandwich and of course it said "I'm Lovin' It." And a block before that billboard is a McDonald's. I don't know, I just see humor in shit like that.

The Hugo Hotel

Sorry, I've completely lagged on the pics a day thing for the last two days. It's a little my fault, but mostly not. Like 10% my fault. OK, maybe 20%. But whatever. It doesn't matter.

Here's the pic from Friday. This is where else, downtown San Francisco.

This building was a hotel at one point in time. After a fire over twenty years ago it apparently had some extensive damage and has been nonoperational ever since. But the owner of the building has been paying the property taxes and whatnot on it. Financially, it is in good standing.

The city wants to tear down this hotel and build low cost housing in its place. I'll keep you posted.

Oh shit

Sorry for not posting a pic of the day blog. It's gonna have to wait till tomorrow because James has the laptop and I'm working off my iPod Touch right now. But for the record, I took a few cool pics today. You'll see. Tomorrow. :).

Kings of Paramore

I didn't do anything worthy of a picture today.

But, I have to take a moment to mention this. Last week I was reading Perez Hilton and there was a link to Paramore singing the Kings Of Leon song "Use Somebody". I like the original. But I love the Paramore version.

So here's a pic of both groups and a a link to the Kings of Leon video as well as a the Paramore version.

Click here for the Kings of Leon version
